ipod touch vs. iphone

14 March 09

cool stuff indeed. abah got his hands on this gadget. it's a media player that had WiFi capability and a built-in browser....

it recognises two fingers working together, so you can resize images or web pages by simply pinching fingertips together on the screen or opening them wider.

Wireless Router / AP

My DSL3100R was struck by lightning 2 weeks ago. Bought a new modem last week - DSL600EW. After calling AZTECH technician in Kelana Jaya to assist with the configuration, I managed to get connected to Streamyx.

First, I had to change the DSL modulation to GLITE instead of MMODE (default). Then, streamyx ID should be set to username@streamyx without ".com"
Next, I launch WL630USB and test signal strength. Well...only managed 50% (accessing AP at first floor from ground floor). yes.......i have a wireless network now!

Chicken Pox

16 Jan - our daughter had chicken pox!

15 Jan - went to SCP. Somebody tried to break into the vehicle parked at level 3. Nothing missing but key lock malfunction. Installed new alarm.

11 Jan - TM technician supplied Wireless Phone Terminal (since fixed line is not available yet) .
Product is called "CDMA" Dowtel DTP 800. Able to do internet dail-up but still cannot configure the CDMA yet as TM did not supply the serial cable to dekstop PC or notebook.

10 Jan - celebrating Haj & gotong-royong for the animal sacrification ritual.

9 Jan - drove to JB (visiting sister in-law at Sultanah Aminah hospital)

7 Jan - off balik kampung.

5 & 6 Jan - attended project at Shah Alam (Bt. Jelutong)

1 Jan 2006 - Happy New Year & Best wishes to all.

31 Dec 2005 - shopping at Metro Kajang (with my in-laws)

30 Dec 2005 - my spouse's birthday. Bought small chocolate cake.

Massage Chair

Tuesday - I had a problem with my Noro Bliss massage chair. It doesn't seem to be working as normal. May be the switch is faulty.
Call OSIM service centre in the morning and was told to wait for their technician to make an appointment within a week!

A week to get an appointment????? huh....I can wait but don't think my spouse would be as patient as I am.

Again, took my family out for dinner. Our initial plan was to have some western food at F1 restaurant. Too bad, traffic was
bad in front of Serdang Komuter station towards Seri Kembangan junction (stretch of cars up to Minlon). So, we changed our
plan and decided to have some satay at Bukit Dukung rest area.

My daughter had her favourite snack "Otak-Otak".

Streamyx is now connected

****Letter of appreciation to TMNet****

Thanks Cik Murni/Cik Rafidah

En Mustapa has fixed the fibre optic problem and run a connection testing at my house at 13:35pm yesterday. Connection establised as normal. I sincerely appreciate your initiative to forward my complaint to the appropriate section/department. After 2 weeks of painful waiting & complaining to Streamyx, at last, we are able to enjoy the streamyx service from our home.

FYI, prior to our communication last Saturday, I did not get a positive response from your other Customer Service sections for the last 2 weeks. Calling your Technical section also did not help. I sincerely hope that in the future, your customer service department can advise us promptly & accurately and channel our problem to the appropriate section/person. (Since you have so many sections/department). Anyway, thanks again for your prompt and accurate action & communication.

Rgds

Problem with Streamyx

Hi Nicholas, TMnet Customer Care

Thank you for your response. As advised, my husband have made two phone calls yesterday to your activation centre at 5.00pm (attended by your En Shahriza) and 7.15pm (attended by your En. Nasmi). A service failure report number 238989 has been assigned for me.Below is a brief description of communication and testing done by my husband yesterday

8 Aug 2005:5.00 pm : As advised by your En. Shahriza, my husband removed the splitter and connected my new modem Aztech 3100R direct to the phone jack. After 1 minute, the DSL light was still blinking (indicating connection with TM local exchange was not establised). My husband then tested the same modem at my neighbour's house 100 meters apart (same location i.e 4th floor, Block B, ........... Balakong). My neighbour, Mr Eddie Lau has been using basic streamyx for more than 1 year using telephone number 03-8963 XXXX. Upon testing, the modem DSL light status was permanent after 10 seconds of connection which indicated connection was established there. Thus no problem with Mr Eddie's line.

7.15 pm : Made an official complaint on the service failure. Attended by En. Nasmi. A service failure report number 238989 has been assigned for me.Expecting your technical guy to check my phone line 03-8962 XXXX today.Based on the above testing, it was suspected that my line is not able to establish ADSL connection yet. Please take note that my 10 storey condominium is currently fitted with fibre optic telephone lines.Your immediate response to resolve the above service failure is very much appreciated.

Regards
